This Privacy Policy explains how The Carpenter Agency ("we", "us", "our") collects and uses your personal data when you visit thecarpenteragency.co.uk or get in touch with us. We are the data controller for the information you provide. If you have any questions, email us at hello@thecarpenteragency.co.uk.
What we collect
- Details you give us. When you submit our enquiry form we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided) and anything you write in the message.
- Marketing source data. If you arrive from an ad or link, we may record campaign tags (UTM parameters) and the page that referred you, so we know which marketing is working.
- Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs basic technical information such as your IP address and browser type for security and reliability.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To respond to your enquiry and provide a quote or call — on the basis of taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
- To provide our services if you become a client — on the basis of performing our contract with you.
- To keep the site secure and working — on the basis of our legitimate interest in protecting our website.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the trusted providers that help us run our business, who act as our processors:
- Supabase — secure database where enquiries are stored in our CRM.
- Netlify — hosting for this website and our CRM.
- Fastmail — email, used to send us a notification of your enquiry.
If you become a client, we may also use advertising platforms such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google to run campaigns; we will explain this as part of your onboarding.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry data only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for our legitimate business records. If you do not become a client, you can ask us to delete your details at any time and we will do so promptly.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong;
- ask us to delete your data;
- object to or restrict how we use it; and
- ask for a copy of your data in a portable format.
To exercise any of these, email hello@thecarpenteragency.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how we have handled your data.
